Post 5: Changes to my study program




Hello everyone, I hope you are very well!
Today we will talk about the psychology career program at the University of Chile
The psychology career at my university lasts five years, in which the first four years of the career do not carry out professional practices, except for some activities in certain subjects. Subsequently, once you have completed the first four years of the career, you will be able to carry out the professional practice in the last year. But, are we really prepared without having a prior approach to practice?
Personally, I would have liked practical activities to be included in the first four years of the career because as students we lose the opportunity to get closer as professionals to what a psychological intervention really is or what psychology as such is. In addition to the above, my generation started their career in the midst of a pandemic, so we lost several practical instances that could not be recovered otherwise, in addition to not being able to use the university facilities. Therefore, it is one of the fundamental changes that I would like to make to improve during the course of the race and not at the end of the process.
I would also like to add that having more practical instances will prevail the usefulness of the various facilities that exist in the university, both technological and scientific, and also strengthen the learning that the different professors offer us through chairs and bibliography. .

Personally, I think that this course made me feel extra stress, even more so when I think that it is not so necessary in the university. Regardless of the above, for those who are interested in learning English it will be very beneficial.
